Players: 2.
Strategy: Complex
Goal
Get rid of all 13 cards from your deck, while playing as many cards as you can into the ace-seeded stacks. Game is over when the first player gets rid of all the cards in their deck, or when both players decide that they have no moves.
Scoring
When the game ends, each card you play into the ace-seeded stacks earns you one point. However, each card left in your deck costs you two points. High score wins.
Game Play
Squid is a competitive version of solitaire. Each player plays with their own deck and builds their own stacks, alternating by color. However, cards are played into communal ace-seeded stacks by suit - if both players are able to play into a stack, only the first card played will be successful.
When one of a player's stacks is cleared into the communal stacks, a card can be played from the deck into the empty space.
The player's hand is flipped through, 3 cards at a time. Only the top face up card in the hand can be played - either into the player's stacks or the communal stacks.
